On Thursday 24 September 2026, the Accident Insurance Association (AAA) in Luxembourg published its 2025 Annual Report, presenting its missions, activities and key figures for the year.
The 2025 Annual Report marks a change in the way the AAA presents its missions and activities. This edition introduces a renewed editorial approach, including a new section entitled “Staff Members Speak” (Parole d’agents), which places greater emphasis on the staff members involved in the AAA’s day-to-day work. Through several testimonies, it invites readers to discover the work behind the scenes at the AAA, the diversity of its professions and the expertise that contributes to its missions each day. These profiles also illustrate specific projects and activities through the experiences of those responsible for them.
According to the report, the AAA recognised 15,295 accidents and occupational diseases in 2025, including 12,564 workplace accidents, 2,623 commuting accidents and 108 occupational diseases.
At the same time, the number of worker units increased to 505,592, while the number of companies declined slightly to 30,988. The AAA received an average of 125 declarations per day, and the average cost of an accident amounted to €4,510.
The AAA noted that 2025 was also marked by the continued digitalisation of its procedures available through the public portal Guichet.lu and the personal space MyGuichet.lu. Developments included the integration of XML files for employers’ accident declarations; the expansion of the “Citizen” section, allowing insured persons to consult their workplace accidents and occupational diseases and complete certain procedures online; and the progressive modernisation of internal tools and processes.
“We continued our digital transformation by developing online procedures for insured persons via MyGuichet.lu. This digitalisation is intended above all to simplify our procedures, facilitate access to AAA services and reduce case processing times,” said Georges Wagner, Head of the AAA.
In 2025, Luxembourg held, for the second time following its first presidency in 2002, the presidency of the European Forum of the Insurance against Accidents at Work and Occupational Diseases, which brings together national institutions responsible for insurance against workplace accidents and occupational diseases.
The 33rd European Forum conference took place in Luxembourg from 18 to 20 June 2025, together with the eighteenth edition of the Occupational Safety and Health Forum, held at the Chamber of Commerce on 19 June 2025 in the form of a conference. The forum brought together nearly 400 participants around the theme “Safety and Health in the Face of the Challenges of a Changing World of Work”. More than ten national and international speakers addressed current issues relating to safety, health and wellbeing at work.
