Luxembourg’s Employment Development Agency (ADEM) has reported that the first edition of Jobday Aides & Soins (Assistance & Care), held on Tuesday 20 October 2026 and organised by COPAS in collaboration with ADEM, was a resounding success.

The event took place at Alen Tramsschapp in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg and brought together 32 COPAS member service providers and five partners active in training, information and recruitment. Together, they welcomed more than 1,200 visitors who came to discover the many career opportunities offered by the care and support sector.

Open to jobseekers, students, people considering a career change and anyone interested in a meaningful career, the fair aimed to showcase the diversity of professions in the sector. Visitors were able to meet employers directly, find out about job opportunities and discover the many prospects for career development and training.

ADEM reported that the event was honoured by the presence of the three Luxembourg ministers responsible for the relevant policy areas, with the day officially opened with a welcoming address by Minister of Health and Social Security Martine Deprez, and Minister of Labour Marc Spautz, who highlighted the strategic importance of the care and support sector and the recruitment challenges it faces.

The ministers then toured the fair, meeting the 32 participating service providers, frontline professionals and visitors. Family Affairs, Solidarity, Living Together and Reception of Refugees Max Hahn joined the event in the middle of the day to continue the discussions with exhibitors and jobseekers.

In its press release the agency said: “This strong institutional presence demonstrates the support given to a sector that plays a fundamental role in supporting older people, people with disabilities and anyone requiring daily care or assistance. With 32 exhibitors, the presence of three ministers and more than 1,200 visitors, this first edition of Jobday Aides & Soins represents a major success.”

Encouraged by the strong attendance, the organisers said they intend to maintain this momentum to meet the sector's recruitment needs and promote professions that are essential to society. A second edition is therefore planned for late 2027.

COPAS is the employers' federation for the care and support sector in Luxembourg. It represents 57 member organisations active in care and support, services for older people, disability services and mental health. Together, these organisations employ more than 15,000 people. As a key interlocutor for public authorities, COPAS defends the interests of the sector, promotes its professions and works to develop high-quality services for the people receiving support.
