The Grand Ducal Police have reported several recent arrests in connection with thefts from vehicles in different parts of the country.
One incident occurred during the night of Sunday 28 December 2025 on Harenallee in Schieren, where two men were reported for having gained access to a vehicle. A police patrol attended the scene and apprehended one of the suspects, while a search for the second individual proved unsuccessful. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on Monday 29 December 2025, who issued a detention order.
Another case was reported on the morning of Sunday 28 December 2025, at around 10:00, on Haaptstrooss in Merscheid. According to initial information, a perpetrator entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet. Following a search operation, two suspects were apprehended. Both were arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office and brought before an investigating judge, who issued detention orders against them.
In connection with the latter incident, the police noted that the vehicle involved had not been locked. They reminded vehicle owners to always lock their cars, even when leaving them unattended for a short time. The police also advised ensuring that doors, windows and the boot are closed, alarm systems (if fitted) are activated and that no valuables are left visible inside vehicles.
