On Friday 10 July 2026, Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie continued their nationwide Joyous Entry tour with a visit to Troisvierges, marking the second regional stop since their accession to the throne in October 2025.
Following the “Trounwiessel” (trown change), the tour is taking the Grand Ducal Couple to each of Luxembourg's five regions to meet residents and highlight the heritage and diverse communities of the Grand Duchy.
Despite the warm weather, around 2,500 people gathered to celebrate the occasion, with people of all ages gathered to welcome the Grand Ducal Couple.
Welcomed by local authorities outside the Town Hall, the Grand Ducal Couple began the visit with the official reception before signing the Golden Book. Joining the visit were Luxembourg's Minister for Agriculture, Food and Viticulture and Minister for Consumer Protection, Martine Hansen, and Luxembourg’s Minister for Culture, Eric Thill.
The official welcome began with dance and musical performances by local schoolchildren, followed by a musical procession to Place Nicolas Adames accompanied by a local orchestra.
The lively square featured stalls selling regional products and activities for both children and adults, including an inflatable castle and scouting demonstrations, while the municipality's multicultural community was represented by food stalls offering Luxembourgish, Syrian, Senegalese and Portuguese specialities, among others.
After the programme in the square, the visit continued at the Troisvierges Cultural Centre, where pupils from Cycles 3 and 4 presented themed exhibitions focusing on the municipality's history, villages and cultural diversity.
The artwork and creative projects had been prepared by children from the local school, which brings together 39 nationalities. Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie and the ministers listened to each young exhibitor's presentation and took time to exchange a few words with them.
The programme also highlighted the municipality's rural heritage. Around the square, visitors explored an exhibition of historic tractors and agricultural machinery. Nearby, members of the “Huldanger Holzhacker” (Huldange Woodcutters) gave a symbolic woodcutting demonstration reflecting the Éislek region's long-standing forestry traditions. Representatives of SICLER (Intermunicipal Syndicate for Regional Development) also presented initiatives supporting the development of the region.
The evening continued with meetings between the Grand Ducal Couple and representatives of local associations, community organisations and residents.
The series of Joyous Entries officially began in Esch-sur-Alzette on 24 April 2026, where the Grand Ducal Couple visited the Minett region and its eleven municipalities, showcasing its innovation, cultural scene and local communities.
The tour will continue on 2 October 2026 with a visit to Wormeldange, before concluding in 2027 with visits to Mersch and Beckerich.
