The Grand Ducal Police have reported two arrests made on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026 in connection with a shoplifting incident in Ingeldorf and property damage in Ettelbruck.

According to the police, at around 14:00 on Saturday, a shoplifting incident was reported at a store on Route d’Ettelbruck in Ingeldorf. A man had attempted to steal a larger quantity of printer cartridges. Security staff were able to stop the suspect at the scene and detain him until the police arrived. The stolen goods were returned to the store.

During further investigations, indications emerged that the suspect could be linked to several similar thefts committed in previous years. The investigations are ongoing. On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the man was arrested and was brought before an investigating judge on Sunday.

In a separate incident, at around 14:30 on Sunday, police were informed of an altercation between two people on Avenue J-F Kennedy in Ettelbruck. According to initial information, a woman had previously kicked a vehicle and damaged it. When she subsequently attempted to leave, the vehicle owner detained her until the police arrived. A police patrol found both people at the scene.

Further checks revealed that an arrest warrant had been issued for the woman. She was subsequently transferred to Schrassig Prison. A report was drawn up in connection with the damage to the vehicle.
