The 2026 Luxembourg Red Cross Charity Concert took place on Wednesday 11 February 2026, in front of a full house at the Philharmonie Luxembourg in Luxembourg-Kirchberg .
Under the high patronage of Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess, the sold-out concert featured a performance from pianist Hélène Grimaud, a leading international performer, of George Gershwin’s Concerto in F, accompanied by the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Elim Chan, and also featured works by Copland, Gershwin and Prokofiev.
The Vice-President of the Luxembourg Red Cross, Manou Hoss, emphasised the importance of this solidarity at a time when crises are overlapping and intensifying. She stated: “Millions of lives are disrupted, sometimes within a matter of hours. In the face of these realities, humanitarian action is more necessary than ever, but also more challenging. In a global context where humanitarian funding is declining, your support is decisive. Every donation is used rigorously and responsibly, from project design to implementation on the ground, thanks to the commitment of our teams and local partners. By contributing this evening, you turn solidarity into concrete actions. Thank you for standing with us; you make a difference!”
According to the organisers, the evening also provided an opportunity to highlight a call for international solidarity launched by the Ukrainian Red Cross. In the face of a particularly harsh winter and the ongoing deterioration of vital infrastructure, the Luxembourg Red Cross is strengthening its support alongside the Ukrainian Red Cross. It has participated in the rehabilitation of around fifty hospital facilities, essential for maintaining access to healthcare. The Ukrainian Red Cross reported that over 13 million people have received assistance since the beginning of the conflict and calls for continued international mobilisation.
The Luxembourg Red Cross said all funds raised during the evening will be used to support critical programmes for victims of crises and conflicts worldwide, including emergency interventions, improving health and access to care, and protecting women and children.
