On Monday 19 January 2026, the Embassy of Japan in Luxembourg announced the launch of a new Luxembourg-Japan friendship association, Kizuna, a name that means “ties”.
The new non-profit organisation responds to growing mutual interest between Luxembourg and Japan and operates under the leadership of people in the Grand Duchy.
Kizuna aims to familiarise interested audiences in Luxembourg with Japanese culture and to support the organisation of Japanese cultural projects in the country.
The Japanese Embassy also highlighted that several organisations already operate in Luxembourg to promote exchange between the two countries. These include:
