Thirteen youth organisations in Luxembourg announced a demonstration against the country's housing crisis, scheduled to take place on Tuesday 27 October 2026 at 15:00  in front of the Chamber of Deputies in Luxembourg-Ville.

In a joint statement, the organisations said that Luxembourg has been facing a persistent housing crisis for more than 20 years, particularly affecting young people. According to the signatories, the majority of students and young professionals, whether from Luxembourg or abroad, cannot afford to live in the country.

The organisations stated: "Many young people are therefore forced to settle across the border, which also drives up prices there. As young people, we no longer want to stand by and watch this situation continue."

Describing housing as a fundamental right, the thirteen organisations called on all political parties to treat the housing crisis as an absolute priority and implement concrete and effective measures more quickly.

The joint statement was signed by Jonk Sozialisten Lëtzebuerg, déi jonk Lénk, déi jonk Gréng, AELK (Association des Étudiants à Karlsruhe), ALUS (Association des Luxembourgeois aux Universités de Strasbourg), De Jugendrot, Jonk Europäesch Föderalisten Lëtzebuerg, Klima Kollektiv, LCGJ, LSD (Lëtzebuerger Studenten zu Düsseldorf), OGJ, RLA (Rout Léiwen Amsterdam – Lëtzebuerger Studenten zu Amsterdam) and UNEL.
