On Wednesday 16 March the Luxembourg Red Cross received €3,000 from the Voyages Emile Weber travel company and intends to use it to support the integration of refugees and those applying for international protection, into society.
Emile Weber, Director of the Voyages Emile Weber travel company, presented the checque to Gilles Dhamen, director of national solidarity at the Luxembourg Red Cross. The travel company had decided in 2015 that instead of giving Christmas presents it would donate money to the Luxembourg Red Cross.
Emile Weber explained "Since the summer, the Red Cross has done a tremendous job for initial reception of persons seeking international protection in Luxembourg. They arrive in Luxembourg with nothing. It is important to us to support Luxembourg Red Cross in its integration projects of these people, young and old, and to offer them new perspectives and a life of security and dignity in Luxembourg."
The “Migrants et Réfugiés” division of the Luxembourg’s Red Cross’s mission is to provide them with food and clothing, coaching in the administrative procedures as well as specific support based on particular situations of each individual.
