On Monday 14 September 2026, the Regional Tourism Office of the Mullerthal Region - Luxembourg's Little Switzerland (ORT-MPSL) announced that the Mullerthal Trail had been awarded the “Leading Quality Trails - Best of Europe” label for the fifth consecutive time.
The award was presented at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Germany. The European Ramblers’ Association grants the designation to walking trails that meet specific quality standards designed to address hikers' needs and ensure a high-quality walking experience.
Among the criteria assessed during the certification process are consistent signposting, varied routes close to nature and an attractive surrounding landscape. Cultural attractions along the route, rest areas and connections to local public transport (such as free transportation) are also taken into consideration.
The Mullerthal Trail consists of three main routes measuring 36 km and two 38 km routes. It is complemented by five ExtraTours measuring 22 km, 13 km, 9 km, 31.5 km and 25 km.
The trail offers hikers varied natural surroundings and is particularly known for the distinctive rocky landscapes of Luxembourg's Mullerthal Region.
