On Thursday 9 April 2026, CJF Lëtzebuerg Asbl (formerly Caritas Jeunes et Familles) invited more than 350 children aged from five to twelve to participate in a festive and educational day at Campus Am Stengert in Betzdorf.
According to CJF Lëtzebuerg, the theme for the event was centred around the idea of “Meng Stëmm fënnt hire Wee” (“My voice finds its way”) and brought together children from twelve education and care services. The day was rooted in CJF’s values of kindness, solidarity, openness to others and their differences.
The event took place in the presence of Claude Meisch, Luxembourg Minister of Education, Children and Youth, Nadine Erpelding, Government Counsellor at the Ministry of Culture, as well as Marc Ries, Mayor, and Marie-Claire Ruppert, Deputy Mayor, of the Municipality of Betzdorf.
CJF Lëtzebuerg reported that, rooted in the values of non-formal education, the event placed children’s participation and democracy at the heart of the day. Open to every child, regardless of their differences or means of expression, it reflected a collective and supportive commitment. The event was co-developed with the event's educational teams, who led 33 workshops across three main areas: media, music and art.
The programme’s activities included body percussion, rap, dance of emotions, stop motion, vox pops, radio, physical theatre, painting and creative photography, and every child, whatever their form of expression, was invited to explore, share and make their voice heard.
Carina Gonçalves, Director General, CJF Lëtzebuerg Asbl, remarked: “Every child has a voice and it is essential to listen to it. Our role is to create the conditions for that voice to find its way, whatever the means of expression. These children are our citizens of tomorrow and their contribution cannot wait. It begins today.”
