On Wednesday 29 April 2026, AKUT asbl and its partners unveiled the list of winners of the second edition of their Environmental Health and Indoor Air Quality Award.

The four organising associations - AKUT, Neobuild, Patiente Vertriedung and Scente - have announced the winners who will attend the awards ceremony and present their work at Hôtel Parc Belle-Vue in Luxembourg-Ville on Friday 8 May 2026.

The winners are:

International Category - Environmental Health

  • Dr Kurt E. Muller, dermatologist and oncologist
    A pioneer of environmental medicine in Germany, former president of the DBU (German environmental medicine association) and of EUROPAEM (European Academy for Environmental Medicine)
  • Professor Dr Dominique Belpomme, oncologist
    A French pioneer of environmental health, particularly concerning the issue of pesticides in Martinique; founder and former president of the ARTAC association for anti-cancer therapeutic research

National Category - Building Biology

  • Luxembourg's Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity
    Integration of indoor air quality and healthy building aspects into the catalogue of aid to municipalities within the framework of the "Climate Pact" and the “Klimabonus”
  • Municipality of Wiltz
    Construction of the educational campus based on a selection of "healthy materials" to ensure better indoor air quality

Awareness Category - Health & Environment

  • Dr Hans Ulrich Grimm, journalist
    Creation of the website "Dr. Watson der Food Detektiv" and long-standing awareness-raising about industrial food

In addition, "H₂E" certificates will be awarded to the "indoor air quality experts" trained over the past year.

Mars Di Bartolomeo, Luxembourg MP and former Minister of Health, will preside over the awards ceremony.
