David Grumbach of Juliette Films announced on Thursday evening at the Luxembourg premier of their Ireland-Luxembourg co-production Standby at Utopolis-Kirchberg within the 2015 British & Irish Film Season, that earlier in the day he had received confirmation of funding for a new co-production with an Irish partner.
It will be a biopic of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, who wrote the novel Frankenstein when she was 18, in 1816, in a competition between herself, Percy Shelley, Lord Byron and John Polidori, to see who could write the best horror story. It will focus on her love affair with poet Percy Shelley.
