On Tuesday 11 November 2025, the National Youth Service (Service national de la jeunesse - SNJ) announced BEE SECURE has launched a new awareness campaign, “Nobody is perfect – Don’t believe everything you see online”.
According to the SNJ, the aim of the campaign is to show how content created by influencers can shape one’s perception of reality online and that “what we see is not always what it appears to be”, highlighting that behind every “perfect” image is a real person with doubts, weaknesses and imperfections.
The SNJ noted that the BEE SECURE Radar 2025 survey results showed that online role models — particularly influencers — and social comparison are issues of concern for young people. Influencers are now regarded as part of their everyday lives because they share advice and can be a seen as a “source of inspiration”.
However, the SNJ highlighted that many posts are staged — involving multiple takes, editing, filters or even artificial intelligence to enhance appearance and create an idealised version of themselves, their products or their lifestyle and said that understanding how such content is constructed helps young people maintain self-confidence and take what they see online with perspective.
The SNJ detailed that the “Nobody is perfect – Don’t believe everything you see online” campaign uses humour and authenticity to challenge the myth of online perfection. Through a series of mockumentary-style videos, it portrays different types of influencers — whether focused on lifestyle, fitness, relationships or financial success — confronting their contradictions and imperfect moments.
To reinforce the message, BEE SECURE is also collaborating with real influencers, who will react to the videos on their own accounts and share genuine stories — including unexpected situations, mistakes and personal experiences.
The campaign videos will be shared throughout November on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram — the platforms most used by young people in Luxembourg — with the objective to reach young people where they spend their time and encourage them to reflect on how images, messages and trends influence how they see themselves and others.
BEE SECURE is a government initiative of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, run by the National Youth Service (SNJ) and Kannerjugendtelefon (KJT), in partnership with the Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity (LHC), the Grand Ducal Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office. BEE SECURE is coordinated by the SNJ and co-funded by the European Commission.
