Fond-de-Gras, near Niederkorn and Differdange in the south-west corner of the Grand Duchy, has announced that as part of its Train 1900 Open Days it will feature a display of historic 1950s diesel locomotives from 10:00 to 18:00 on Sunday 6 September 2026.

According to organisers AMFT Train 1900, the diesel locomotives of the 1604 Classics association will visit the open-air museum especially for the occasion.

The fleet of diesel engines will include locomotives 1806, 1604, 856, 804, 455, 1023, as well as the authentic Z208 (Westwaggon) and Z105 (De Dietrich) railcars. The Z151 rail of the 1900 Train will also be there.

In parallel, a steam locomotive of the 1900 Train will run throughout the day, offering a striking contrast between two major eras of railway history.

A creative workshop, play and reading corner will be available for children and the Fond-de-Gras station will offer grilled food, homemade cakes and refreshments throughout the day, with musical entertainment provided by the Louisiana Dixie Band.
