The Grand Ducal Police have warned the public about a parcel delivery scam following a theft reported in Roullingen on Wednesday 12 August 2026.

According to initial information, an unknown man had visited a woman's home on Reimerwee several days earlier, claiming to be delivering a parcel. He reportedly asked the woman to pay a small fee by bank card in order to receive the package.

The woman held her bank card against a device carried by the man and entered her PIN. Without her noticing, she subsequently received a different bank card back instead of her own.

The victim's stolen bank card was later used to withdraw money from an ATM in Wiltz.

As part of the ongoing investigation, the police seized the package and its contents that had been given to the woman.

Following the incident, the police reiterated their warning about this type of scam and urged the public to exercise caution regarding alleged parcel deliveries and unusual payment requests.
