Luxembourg residents will have the opportunity to experience a little bit of German tradition over the next two weeks as the third annual Oktoberfest got underway at the Big Beer Company (Brauerei) in the Rives de Clausen on Friday, 20 September.
Over the next two weeks, the German-styled brewery, restaurant and bar which serves its own range of brewed beers will host a series of popular German musical acts such as Marco Boesen and Schatziladies.
Bekai Hebib, Director of Marketing and Communication, explained that people can expect to come and enjoy a fun-filled atmosphere surrounded by friendly staff dressed in traditional Bavarian costumes including the obligatory lederhosen and feathered caps for the boys!
The event marks the third anniversary of the opening of the establishment which maintains its German theme throughout the year. The difference during Oktoberfest is that there will be various draws taking place during the course of the two week festival with the possibility to win ten litres of free beer as well as discounted beer prices and speciality menus. Table dancing is optional....
