On Thursday 28 and Friday 29 April 2016, Belgian Chief of Defence, General Gerard Van Caelenberg, was in the Grand Duchy to conduct an official visit.
He was received by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of Luxembourg, Étienne Schneider, and Chief of Staff of the Luxembourg Army, General Roman Mancinelli.
This visit took place within the framework of the relations between the two armed forces. The discussions centered on the reform of the Luxembourg army, the different areas of binational cooperation, the contributions of both countries to multinational operations and the upcoming NATO summit taking place in Warsaw in July 2016.
