On Monday 26 January 2026, Luxembourg’s national railway company, the CFL, announced that it will cease the activities of its travel and tourism subsidiary CFL Evasion as of 31 March 2026.

As reported by the company, the decision forms part of a broader strategic review. CFL explained that the tourism sector is currently undergoing significant structural changes, requiring major investments in technology, training and infrastructure. At the same time, with less than 3% of journeys sold by train, CFL Evasion has moved away from the core mission of the CFL Group. According to CFL, these factors led the group to refocus its investments and resources on the development of its core business.

It is guaranteed that all clients who have booked trips with CFL Evasion will be able to travel as planned and will continue to benefit from professional support. All existing commitments made by CFL Evasion will be honoured.

To ensure continuity, Travel Group Luxembourg will take over the handling of trips booked with CFL Evasion through its two networks, We love to travel and Emile Weber. The company noted that Travel Group Luxembourg is a long-standing partner of CFL Evasion and a well-established player in Luxembourg’s tourism sector, operating a nationwide network of travel agencies.

The closure of CFL Evasion affects five employees. New positions within the CFL Group will be offered to those concerned.

The CFL Group also thanked CFL Evasion’s clients for their trust and loyalty over the years, as well as Travel Group Luxembourg for taking over the management of existing customer files.
