The Greek Cinema Club (Ciné-club hellénique de Luxembourg) has announced the election of its new Executive Committee, as well as upcoming film screenings.
AGM - Executive Committee
At its annual general assembly (AGM) on 13 January 2026, the Greek Cinema Club elected the following Executive Committee members:
- Eugenia Gavalaki
- Vasiliki Kamara
- Stefanos Krassas
- Angeliki Maragkoudaki
- Ioanna Topa
The club discussed the problems it is currently facing, as well as possible solutions. The main problem, according to the club, is financial. In 2025, all films had a negative balance, with expenses exceeding revenue. Proposed ways to address this included contacting the Greek Embassy in Luxembourg, reaching out for and seeking sponsorships from Greek businesses and Greek shops in Luxembourg, and contacting Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture. A proposal to eliminate one of the two monthly screenings to reduce expenses was also considered but rejected. Members also discussed ways to promote the club's events and the effectiveness of spreading them through advertising posters and social media posts.
Upcoming Screenings
The Greek Cinema Club will screen the film Meat (Greece, 2024, 104 min, colour) at Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg on Tuesday 24 February 2026 at 19:00 and on Wednesday 25 February 2026 at 21:00. The drama-thriller, directed by Dimitris Nakos, will be presented in the original Greek version with English subtitles. It is not suitable for children under the age of sixteen.
