The annual "Veiner Nëssmoort" (Vianden Nut Market) will return on Sunday 11 October 2026, taking place from 10:00 to 19:00.
Organised by Veiner Nëssmoort ASBL, the traditional event will offer visitors a range of walnut-based specialities, including cakes, liqueurs, salami, bread and other products.
The annual fair brings visitors to the streets of Vianden to discover local and regional products centred around walnuts.
Held every year on the second Sunday in October, the nut market attracts thousands of visitors. According to the Veiner Nëssmoort association, Vianden was once considered Luxembourg's "secret nut capital": in 1902, about 20% of all nuts in the country came from Vianden.
The first nut market took place in the town in 1935 to sell excess nuts. Since then, the market has grown into a well-known folk festival. Today, the event features nut-based products, regional food and a variety of local goods.
