On Friday 27 June 2025, Luxembourg's Minister for Mobility and Public Works visited Luxembourg Airport to discover the CX300, a fully electric aircraft from Beta Technologies, which made a stopover in Findel.

As reported by Luxembourg's Ministry of Mobility and Public Works and the Directorate of Civil Aviation, the meeting with Beta Technologies officials provided an opportunity to discuss technological advances in electric aviation, economic opportunities for electric aircraft operators, prospects for decarbonising regional air transport and infrastructure challenges, particularly in terms of charging, ground logistics and integration into existing airport networks.

This meeting was also an opportunity to explore concrete prospects for collaboration between Luxembourg and sustainable aviation stakeholders, with a view to jointly supporting the development and integration of low-carbon aviation technologies.

Minister Backes stated: "The arrival of the CX300 in Luxembourg marks an important milestone in our commitment to greener aviation. Innovation in electric aviation opens up concrete prospects for more environmentally friendly regional air transport."

The CX300's visit is part of Beta Technologies' European Grand Tour, aimed at demonstrating the maturity of electric aviation.

The CX300 is an electric fixed-wing aircraft designed for regional routes, capable of carrying up to five people or 500 kg of cargo. According to Beta, it generates 75% fewer emissions than a Cessna 208 Caravan and produces significantly lower noise levels.

According to the ministry, this visit highlights Luxembourg's "strategic position" in the European aviation network and its "strong commitment to sustainable and next-generation transport technologies". It added that Luxembourg continues to invest in green infrastructure and actively collaborates with international partners to accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions across all sectors.
