On Friday 25 September 2026, the Government Council endorsed the proposal by the Minister of Culture, Eric Thill, to submit to Grand Duke Guillaume the appointment of Berglind Fridriks as Deputy Director of the National Museum of Archaeology, History and Art (MNAHA).

The Ministry of Culture reported that, effective 1 January 2027, this appointment marks the completion of the new management structure of the MNAHA, the largest cultural institution of the State. Alongside Director Tania Brugnoni, two Deputy Directors, Régis Moes and Berglind Fridriks, will now assume complementary responsibilities to support the institution’s strategic, organisational and scientific development.

Born in 1969, Berglind Fridriks graduated from IAE Nancy (Université Nancy 2), where she obtained a master’s degree in law, economics and management, specialising in human resources management. With more than 20 years of experience in human resources, she has held management positions within international law firms and Luxembourg’s financial sector, before taking charge of operations at a research institute, with responsibility for all support functions.

Since the beginning of 2025, she has been working at the Directorate of Defence, where she handles matters at EU and NATO level and represents Luxembourg in multilateral formats.

Minister of Culture, Eric Thill, stated: “The appointment of Berglind Fridriks strengthens the MNAHA’s management team and demonstrates our commitment to equipping the country’s largest cultural institution with strong governance suited to today’s challenges. Her more than 20 years of expertise in human resources, gained in particularly demanding international and institutional environments, represent major assets in supporting the development of the National Museum of Archaeology, History and Art.”

He added: “With this new management structure, bringing together complementary areas of expertise, the MNAHA now has a strengthened governance framework that will enable it to pursue its missions of preserving, researching, promoting and transmitting the national heritage with ambition. I wish Berglind Fridriks every success in her new role and look forward to this future collaboration.”
