Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture has announced the launch of a simplified procedure for applying for a grant to support artistic creation, development and retraining.

In a spirit of administrative simplification, grant applications will now be made exclusively electronically via the MyGuichet.lu platform. The online approach was developed jointly with the Government IT Centre (Centre des technologies de l'information de l'État - CTIE).

According to the Ministry of Culture, this adaptation goes hand in hand with a simplification of the files requested from applicants, as well as with a precision of the deadlines for submission.

The submission of applications is now punctuated by three annual deadlines. The advisory commission in charge of examining the applications therefore meets three times a year, in the month following these deadlines. For the year 2022, the submission dates are 1 April, 1 July and 1 November.

These changes come in response to demand from the cultural sector for an adaptation and simplification of the methods of state funding.

With its grants to support artistic creation, development and retraining, the Ministry of Culture pursues a triple objective:

  • promoting research, creation and development by allowing authors and artists to have the resources necessary for the creation of works and the realisation of various activities related to their artistic process throughout their career;
  • giving authors and artists the opportunity to contribute to the development of their disciplinary field by exploring cutting-edge resources and technologies;
  • facilitating creative activities that can lead to production and dissemination.
