On Monday 17 August 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported two separate thefts in Heffingen and Luxembourg-Bonnevoie.
At around 05:45 on Monday, police received a report of a break-in at a construction site in Um Knaeppchen in Heffingen. According to initial information, several construction tools and copper cables were stolen, so police launched an investigation and filed a report.
In a separate incident at around 14:30 on Sunday 16 August 2026, police received a report of two young people searching through a shoulder bag on Rue Nicolas Martha in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie before throwing it into a paper recycling container.
Officers recovered the bag from the container and contacted its owner by telephone. She told police that the bag had been stolen from a vehicle shortly beforehand.
Police immediately launched a search and shortly afterwards located two suspects matching the description on Rue du Couvent in Luxembourg-Howald. Officers found the victim's bank cards on one of the suspects.
Police took both suspects to the police station for further procedures and filed a report.
