On Tuesday 9 September 2025, arcus Asbl and its service Quai 57 will mark International Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Awareness Day (FASD) with a series of awareness-raising activities at Luxembourg city's railway station.
The initiative aims to prevent harmful alcohol consumption, particularly among women planning a pregnancy, during pregnancy, and during breastfeeding. Awareness-raising actions for this target group have also been supported by Luxembourg's Ministry of Health and Social Security, as well as the André Losch Foundation during 2023–2024, which will co-finance part of the activities.
In partnership with the Luxembourg national railway company (CFL), the Quai 57 team will distribute free leaflets on FASD and stickers with the message "Zero alcohol during pregnancy" to commuters and passers-by at Luxembourg City train station.
From 9:00 to 16:00, at the same location, Luxembourgish artist André Scholtes (artist name "It was not me") will create a live painting centred on the same message: "Zero alcohol during pregnancy." Several members of the Quai 57 service will be present with the artist to answer questions from those wishing to obtain more information on the subject.
