On Tuesday 30 September 2025, local patisserie Maison Oberweis announced it is "turning pink" and launching a series of solidarity initiatives in support of Think Pink Luxembourg, an association that supports women affected by breast cancer, to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month (Pink October).

Starting on Wednesday 1 October 2025, Oberweis will unveil the "Pink Lady", a special pastry creation in the colours of Pink October, adorned with its symbolic ribbon and crafted in collaboration with Think Pink Luxembourg.

Made with a shortbread biscuit, an almond-hazelnut dacquoise with pieces of streusel, a Koa caramel (cacao pulp fruit juice), a raspberry jelly and a Koa mousse, this individual pastry will be sold in all Oberweis shops from 1 to 31 October 2025 inclusive.

A part of the profits from sales will be donated to Think Pink Luxembourg, in order to support women affected by breast cancer and to fund research. Oberweis said this represented "a strong message of hope and awareness that the family business wishes to share with both its customers and employees".

Mindful of the well-being and health of its employees, throughout October, Maison Oberweis will also provide a series of educational materials and awareness webinars promoting self-examination, "a simple gesture that enables early detection of anomalies and significantly improves the outcomes".

On Sunday 12 October 2025, Oberweis employees will also take part in this year's Race for the Cure, a solidarity race held in Echternach, in collaboration with Think Pink Europe. Proceeds from this event contribute to funding research at the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH). In a show of solidarity, Maison Oberweis will temporarily dress its visual identity in pink - "a reminder to all of the importance of prevention and solidarity during this symbolic month".

Léa Oberweis, Director of Maison Oberweis, commented: "Through our collaboration with Think Pink Lux, we wish not only to support research and the women affected, but also to remind everyone of the importance of early detection. Solidarity and awareness are at the heart of the Oberweis commitment."

Founded in 2009 by a small group of volunteers, Think Pink Luxembourg is a non-profit charitable organisation that supports women affected by cancer in Luxembourg and raises public awareness about women's cancers.
