On Tuesday 16 September 2025, the Luxembourg-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce (LUCC) hosted an information session as part of its “Empower to Employ” project at the Coworking LBP in Luxembourg-Hamm.
The event brought together around 20 participants, including CEOs, founders and senior managers from both Luxembourgish and Ukrainian businesses.
In an interview with Chronicle.lu, LUCC President Evgenia Paliy underlined that the key aim of the event was to draw the attention of Luxembourg employers to the Empower to Employ project. She noted that the chamber is particularly seeking to engage companies and C-level executives. “When vacancies open, we encourage them to contact us - we will be pleased to assist and provide information about candidates free of charge, as 75 displaced persons participate in our project each semester,” she explained.
She added that all participants in the programme have at least B1 language proficiency and come from sectors such as finance, auditing, project management, Horeca and law. “Our main task is job placement, and our priority is to draw employers’ attention to this,” she stressed.
Looking ahead, LUCC will on Thursday 18 September 2025 host information sessions for HR representatives. Evgenia Paliy explained that the goal is to showcase the potential of Ukrainian candidates and clarify procedures for employers. “We will present employment opportunities for Ukrainians, explain visa requirements, available ADEM schemes and state programmes offering financial support for young workers and for those unemployed for long periods,” she said.
She concluded by stressing the chamber’s intention to make such events a regular occurrence. “We plan to organise similar sessions regularly and invite companies and employers to consider our project. We encourage them to turn to us when seeking employees - we will be pleased to help and provide CVs of candidates who are ready to work and can start immediately.”
