From Wednesday 19 November 2025, cinemas across Luxembourg will celebrate 40 years of filmmaking by Luxembourgish director Andy Bausch with a special retrospective titled “Make It Short - D’Kuerzfilmer vum Andy Bausch (1984–2024)”.
The programme offers audiences the chance to (re)discover six of Andy Bausch’s most notable short films on the big screen: Der Däiwel, Letters Unsent, Language School, The Last 50 Hours of Frankie Blue, Freddie and The Butcher.
Screenings will take place in eleven cinemas across the country, including Ciné Utopia (Luxembourg City), Ciné Starlight (Dudelange), Kulturhuef Kino (Grevenmacher), Cine Waasserhaus (Mondorf-les-Bains), Ciné Scala(Diekirch), Kinoler (Kahler), Ciné Kursaal (Rumelange), Ciné Orion (Troisvierges), Ciné Sura (Echternach), Ciné Prabbeli (Wiltz) and Ciné Le Paris (Bettembourg).
The 92-minute programme features both new and older short films, along with a selection of Andy Bausch’s most iconic commercials. The collection includes stories about devils, cowboys, gangsters, the rock legend Freddie, and even language-learning prostitutes - all told with humour and featuring the late Thierry van Werveke and other well-known Luxembourgish actors. All films will be screened with English subtitles.
