The Comité pour une Paix Juste au Proche-Orient (CPJPO - Committee for a Just Peace in the Middle East) has announced a Ciné-Club screening of Tomorrow's Freedom, taking place at Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg on Wednesday 14 January 2026 at 19:00.

Directed by sisters Sophia and Georgia Scott, the documentary follows the life of Palestinian activist turned political leader Marwan Barghouti, who for years believed in the Oslo Accords and the possibility of peace between Israel and Palestine. In 2000, Marwan became a key figure in the Second Intifada against the Israeli occupation. Two years later, he was arrested by Israel and accused of ordering terrorist attacks in Tel Aviv. After spending extended periods in solitary confinement and standing trial, an Israeli civilian court sentenced him to five life sentences plus additional years.

According to CPJPO, Tomorrow's Freedom takes viewers on "a brutally honest and transformative journey into the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, giving voice to Palestinians and Israelis on both sides".

This story is told through the lens of the Barghouti family. Over four years, the filmmakers closely observed the daily pressures faced by Marwan Barghouti's wife, Fadwa, and their four children, including prison visits and Marwan's 43-day hunger strike while held in his solitary confinement.

The film will be screened in Arabic (original language) with English subtitles. Admission is free, with tickets available at https://www.tickettailor.com/events/tasteoflevant/1973306.
