On Friday 29 May 2026, the Luxembourg Football Federation (FLF) announced the early extension of Jeff Strasser’s contract as head coach of the national team, the Rout Léiwen (Red Lions), until 30 June 2028.

The FLF said since taking up his role, Jeff Strasser and his staff have contributed to the sporting development of the Rout Léiwen, focusing on collective progress, the integration of players into a demanding working environment, and the consolidation of a clear playing identity. The extension of his contract forms part of a long-term vision aimed at supporting the sustained development of the men’s national team.

“This extension is a strong signal of trust and continuity. Jeff Strasser has a perfect understanding of Luxembourg football, its structures and its ambitions. We are convinced that he is the right person to continue developing our national team and to guide the Rout Léiwen through the next stages of their progression,” said Paul Philipp, President of the Luxembourg Football Federation.

Jeff Strasser also welcomed the renewal of confidence: “I would like to thank the FLF and the Board of Directors, together with its President, for the trust placed in me. It is an honour to continue leading the Rout Léiwen. Together with my staff, we want to continue the work already started, keep improving the team, and approach the challenges ahead with ambition, seriousness and determination.”

Through this early extension, the FLF said it reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a stable and sustainable framework around the men’s national team, in order to continue the sporting development undertaken in recent years.

Jeff Strasser’s current contract was initially due to expire on 31 December 2026.
