On Thursday evening a 72 year-old motorist lost his life when the car which he was driving hit a roadside tree on the route de Diekirch (N19) in Bettendorf
The motorist, from Ingeldorf, was travelling towards Moestroff when his car left the road and crashed into one of the roadside trees. The car rebounded across the road whereupon it hit another tree before crossing the road again and coming to a rest between two other trees.
The emergency services were called to the scene of the accident, but the motorist was declared dead when they arrived.
The road was temporarily closed to traffic.
