On Thursday 11 June 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that three suspected burglars were arrested following break-ins in Bourscheid and Strassen on the morning of Wednesday 10 June 2026.
According to the police, in the early morning of Wednesday 10 June, burglaries in several detached houses in Op Harent in Bourscheid were reported. According to initial information, two perpetrators gained access to the houses but were intercepted at the scene by responding police patrols.
On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, both suspected burglars were arrested and brought before an investigating judge. Arrest warrants were issued for both men.
Also on the morning of Wednesday 10 June, a burglary was reported on route d’Arlon in Strassen. The offender was still believed to be inside the detached house. A police patrol immediately went to the property and found a man inside. He refused to leave the house and began spitting at officers, which led to officers applying a spit hood and handcuffs to the suspect. The officers noted that his level of cooperation did not improve at the police station.
The suspect was searched and several stolen items were found. These were subsequently returned to their rightful owner. The suspect was then arrested on the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Police forensic services attended the scene and further investigations are ongoing.
Moreover, a further burglary occurred during the early hours of Thursday 11 June on Grand-Rue in Troisvierges. According to initial information, a man broke into a flat and stole several mobile phones and a laptop. However, he was disturbed by the occupant and fled the scene. A search for the suspect was unsuccessful. Investigations have been launched.
