On Wednesday 26 November 2025, local non-profit organisation HUT - Hëllef um Terrain announced that the Pax Christi Foundation, under the aegis of the Fondation de Luxembourg, will support the community workshop projects run by the organisation.

In certain HUT – Hëllef um Terrain facilities, many young people find themselves without activities or future prospects. They may be early school leavers, young people waiting to begin professional integration, or simply young people with no occupation. In order to help them envision a positive future, HUT - Hëllef um Terrain has set up community workshops aimed at providing training while meeting the needs of the community.

The workshops may take various forms: painting rooms, cleaning, maintaining green spaces, small DIY jobs, organising activities, catering etc. The young people not only acquire professional skills, but also important values such as teamwork, taking responsibility, civic engagement, punctuality and managing a schedule. At the same time, a small financial allowance enables them, like all young people, to occasionally buy new clothes or enjoy trips to the cinema.

HUT - Hëllef um Terrain has announced that this year the community workshop project has received financial support from the Pax Christi Foundation, under the aegis of the Fondation de Luxembourg. The Pax Christi Foundation has supported activities that allow disoriented young people to contribute to the community while receiving training for many years. Youth training is one of their priorities an around 150 young people are expected to participate in the community workshops this year.

HUT - Hëllef um Terrain noted that the support of the Pax Christi Foundation is essential and expressed its sincere thanks to the Pax Christi Foundation, as without this help it would be impossible to offer the workshops in their current form.

HUT - Hëllef um Terrain highlighted that community workshops take place as soon as a need is identified in the field. Recently, young people have helped organise several receptions, including one for volunteers of HUT - Hëllef um Terrain and another for staff from partner organisations. They also assisted with organising, setting up and running workshops and stalls at various local events attended by HUT – Hëllef um Terrain structures. Another project involved designing and building benches and a garden table made from wooden pallets in order to make the outdoor space of an accommodation facility more pleasant for its residents. Further projects are currently being defined, such as maintaining green spaces or laundry rooms, setting up activity rooms and many others.
