The Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles continue with good performances from Team Luxembourg.

Athletics brought a  first win with a perfect record for Nicole Lydorf in the shot putt; in the same discipline, Gérard Kremer won bronze.

Medals were also achieved for swimming, with bronze for Carole Mehlen (50m backstroke); in table tennis for Luigi Alberti. Sonja Engeldinger ending in 4th place. In Boccia, Claudine Koch is assured of playing in the final, where Annouck Frédéric could also join her. The draw for doubles in tennis was challenging, as it also was for unified football, where Team Luxembourg is still awaiting a first success.

Progress in unified basketball is improving from game to game: after a defeat to Italy, the basketball players almost beat Pakistan before winning against Ethopia.

Until the end of the World Games on Saturday, the Luxembourg delegation aims to further increase its medal haul.
